3. Surface Preparation
The installation process starts with professional surface preparation. In this step, we repair any cracks, grind, and thoroughly clean the surface to to remove dirt, grease, oil, and any existing coatings to prepare if for proper adhesion to your new floor coating.
4. Base Coat Application
Once the surface is prepped, the first layer of base coat is applied. This layer acts as a primer, penetrating the concrete substrate (becoming an actual part of the floor) and providing a strong bond for subsequent layers.
5. Epoxy Flake Application
Epoxy flakes are then applied onto the still-wet base coat. The flakes are broadcasted evenly across the surface by hand. After allowing the flakes to partially cure, excess flakes are scraped off, leaving behind a uniform distribution embedded in the base coat.
